The Noank Aquaculture Cooperative is a farmers Co-Op formed in August of 2000 and based in Noank, CT.  The Co-Op maintains open membership for persons or organizations interested in raising shellfish.  The Noank Co-Op facilities includes a shellfish hatchery and processing area open to members who would otherwise have no shore access to facilities.  As an ancillary benefit, the Co-Op members are presiding over a resurgence in wild oyster populations in the Mystic estuary and subsequent environmental benefits. The Southold Branch of the Noank Aquaculture Co-Op began operating out of the Peconic Land Trust's Shellfisher Preserve in Southold, New York in 2003. The members grow oysters, hard clams and bay scallops in the pristine waters of the Peconic Bay Estuary.  Our growers are located throughout the bay system. We are currently working on a project that will generate proceeds from the sale of our premium product for projects that benefit the estuary.
